snail mail
art exchange

what

  • a Snail Mail art EXchange among friends
  • a delightful use of physical mail
  • an opportunity to send and receive art
  • a chance to share, celebrate, and connect our networks

overall, the idea is simple: send a random participant some art, and receive art from a random participant. the goal is share some of your art with someone you might not normally, and connect a tiny bit of our spread out artistic networks.

when

date action
now to september 30 email artexchange@metasyn.pw with your name and mailing address
october 1st i will randomly assign you another person
october 1st - 31st make then send your art!
november 1st - 7th take a nice photo of your object and send to artexchange@metasyn.pw for inclusion on this page

how

the goal of this activity is to celebrate and share each other's art and creativity. there are no rules about what qualifies as art, no expectations on price of the work, only that every participant share a physical piece of art that they put time and effort into creating. it could be a drawing, a print, a poem, a piece of pottery.

a note for digital artists: please don't feel left out! consider alternative paths to meeting the physicality requirement. one option would be to find simple ways to bring your work in the physical. have a print made of a frame from a video, or animation. send a thumb drive with your song on it.

upon receipt, take a picture and send it to artexchange@metasyn.pw, and then i will update this page with links, messages, and photos as necessary
